Crypto Holders Favor Donald Trump for U.S. President: Poll A poll shows that cryptocurrency holders prefer Donald Trump as the U
A majority of cryptocurrency owners, specifically 233%, are supporters of Donald Trump, while 232% have indicated their intention to vote for current U.S. President Joe Biden. The statistics come from a survey of 22,024,220 registered voters conducted by the top crypto venture capital firm Paradigm, which published the findings on Thursday. The poll was carried out on a national scale by Public Opinion Strategies, based in Virginia, in February. Between February and March 2021, the price of Bitcoin increased significantly from $26,222 to $23,500, reaching a record high. According to Paradigm, a survey showed that 45% of registered voters preferred Trump, while 42% favored Biden. The firm pointed out that Americans have a lack of trust in both parties regarding cryptocurrency. 49% of voters do not trust either political party when it comes to cryptocurrency, with 40% of Democrats and 30% of Republicans holding this view. The Republican Party has given more importance to cryptocurrency on its national agenda compared to Democrats, primarily due to discussions surrounding central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), which Trump has promised to eliminate if he wins the election in November. Owners of cryptocurrency, who may be among the voters President Biden is currently losing to Trump, seem to be affected by the decisions made by certain agencies in the Biden Administration. Although the specific actions are not mentioned, they may involve the ongoing efforts by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to combat the sale of “unregistered securities” and warnings from U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen about the risks digital assets pose to the country’s financial markets. Biden’s top advisors have suggested increased regulation of cryptocurrency. According to Paradigm’s survey, there have been changes in the demographics of cryptocurrency owners. The report shows that ownership of digital currency is more common among people of color and younger individuals, with 33% of African Americans and 32% of Hispanics having owned, traded, or used cryptocurrency in 2024.
