Drake Shared Michael Saylor’s Bullish Take on Bitcoin to His 146 Million Instagram Followers Drake relayed Michael Saylor’s optimistic views on Bitcoin to his 146 million Instagram followers.
Drake, a popular musician with a massive following on Instagram, shared a video on Tuesday where MicroStrategy co-founder Michael Saylor discussed Bitcoin. The clip was taken from Saylor’s interview with CNBC’s Andrew Ross Sorkin. In the caption, Drake wrote “Michael Saylor on Bitcoin.” Drake has shown interest in Bitcoin before, as he posted a picture of a diamond-encrusted Ledger hardware wallet on his Instagram in 2022. The Canadian rapper won $723,000 in Bitcoin by placing a bet on the Los Angeles Rams to win against the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI. Meanwhile, other celebrities were promoting cryptocurrency companies such as FTX and Crypto. In the video clip, Saylor mentions that Drake seems to be concentrating on the top digital asset by market value. Saylor also states that it doesn’t necessarily have to be considered a form of currency. No one is attempting to purchase a cup of coffee using a small portion of their property on 5th Avenue. Saylor, a strong supporter of Bitcoin, had guided Microstrategy in acquiring a large treasury of 205,000 Bitcoin valued at approximately $14.6 billion. In an interview with CNBC on Monday, Saylor mentioned that they are purchasing the cryptocurrency with the intention of holding it for a century. The crash from $66,000 to $16,000 caused the tourists to panic and sell off their investments. Bitcoin surpassed Silver on Monday by reaching a record-breaking high of $71,000 before increasing further. The digital asset continued to rise on Tuesday, climbing by 2.75% to reach a new all-time high of $72,953 after a turbulent week of price fluctuations. The increase in value was partially attributed to the approval of Bitcoin ETFs by the SEC earlier this year, as well as major companies such as BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, Bitwise, and VanEck investing millions in Bitcoin.
