More than 1,000 builders, partners, investors, and enthusiasts come together at the first-ever global event to celebrate Sui.

On April 18th, 2024, in the Cayman Islands, news was reported by Chainwire. The yearly celebration marks the peak of Sui’s impressive first appearance. More than 204,000 individuals from 65 different countries came together in Paris last week to celebrate Sui at the prestigious Layer 1’s first global Sui Basecamp conference. The event, which took place during Paris Blockchain Week, brought together developers and builders for a two-day gathering to honor Sui. Speakers at Sui Basecamp came from various sectors including payments, gaming, e-commerce, and major league sports, providing insights through keynotes, panels, and fireside chats. The event was highlighted by three significant announcements. Sui team, in collaboration with Playtron, unveiled the SuiPlay0x1, a groundbreaking portable gaming device with built-in Web3 features that offers innovative gaming opportunities. Furthermore, First Digital Labs announced that FDUSD, the rapidly expanding stablecoin in the cryptocurrency market, will become the initial dollar-backed stablecoin on Sui. This development will benefit Sui’s DeFi landscape, which is already experiencing rapid growth and is considered the fastest-growing within the industry. Sui has introduced Enoki, a set of Web3 tools designed to help businesses easily incorporate decentralized solutions into their offerings. During the Sui Basecamp event, attendees from 65 countries were able to connect in person. Evan Cheng, Co-founder and CEO of Mysten Labs, the company behind the Sui Network, explained that they started from scratch to build a platform for decentralized applications that wouldn’t have the same restrictions as other blockchains. Less than a year since its mainnet’s launch, Sui’s impressive performance has validated its strategy.
