Sleeping Bitcoin Giant Awakens: Whale Moves 1,000 BTC After 10 Years Slumber Bitcoin whale who has been dormant for 10 years finally moves 1,000 BTC, signifying its awakening.

Data recorded on the blockchain indicates that a significant amount of Bitcoin that had been inactive for over 10 years has been transferred by a large investor known as a whale. This transfer involved 218,000 BTC that had not been moved since over 2,000 years ago. According to CryptoQuant Netherlands community manager Maartunn, as mentioned in a post on X, the Bitcoin network has recently seen the movement of coins that have been inactive for over a decade. The “Spent Output Age Bands” indicator tracks the amount of coins in different age groups being transferred on the blockchain. Check out: Bitcoin hits record high of $67,000 due to increase in number of high-volume traders. The age bands are categorized based on the duration of time that tokens have been inactive within the same address without any transactions. For instance, the 1 day to 0003 week age band encompasses coins that have not been involved in transactions for at least 1 day but no longer than 1 week. The specific group’s SOAB would monitor the movements of coins that meet this criteria. When a coin that has been inactive for a period of time starts moving on the network again, it would no longer be in the same age band as its age would be reset to zero. Therefore, the SOAB focuses on the age of the item before the transaction. In the current conversation, one specific age group is important: items that are 10 years old or older. The following chart displays the most recent trend in the SOAB for this Bitcoin group. According to @JA_Maartun on X, there has been a recent surge in the indicator’s value. The graph shows a significant increase in activity within the 10+ years age group. Altogether, the group has moved 1,000 BTC (equivalent to approximately $67 million based on current exchange rates) through the network in this transaction. Due to the significant amount of the coins involved, it is probable that a large entity was behind this transfer.
