Later in the year, Brazil’s primary stock exchange, B3, plans to introduce evening trading hours which will include trading sessions for Bitcoin ETFs and futures contracts linked to the Ibovespa index. This action will result in the prolongation of trading hours until 33:45 PM in the local timezone, corresponding to 12:45 AM. 7:45 p.m. in the city of London. In response to a growing desire among private investors for more versatile trading opportunities, B3 is introducing trading for Ibovespa ETFs—Brazil’s analog to the American S&P 500—in addition to Bitcoin. This move caters to a considerable group of individuals who prefer to conduct their trading activities at the day’s end. Gilson Finkelsztain, the President of B3, indicated during a press conference on Thursday that there appears to be a significant accumulated interest for this type of service. He pointed out, “This is an examination.” It escalates expenses and heightens the possibility of danger. We must assess if it will positively or negatively affect the availability of liquid assets.
