The son of Donald Trump, Eric Trump, revealed that World Liberty Financial, a decentralized finance protocol, has a plan to purchase some $TRUMP coin following his promotion of the token. 

On June 6, Eric posted on X that, “I am proud to publicize that the $TRUMP Meme Coin has lined up with WorldLibertyFi. Also, WLF has plans to purchase a significant portion of $TRUMP for their Long-Term Treasury.”

After the post was published, the price of Official Trump went up by 6.40%, before coming back to $10.42 at the time of writing, as per the data from TradingView. The market cap currently stands at $2.03 billion. 

The crypto commentators were shocked as the announcement didn’t push the price to a stronger position. Pluid, a crypto commentator, posted on X on June 6 that the coin has not risen on this news- it’s not a good sign at all. 

The announcement is followed by a recent Gala Dinner hosted by Donald Trump for the top 220 holders of Trump’s memecoin on May 23 at the President’s golf course in Virginia. It was an exclusive dinner and a purported meet-and-greet. 

$TRUMP Wallet Controversy

Trump also denied the $TRUMP Wallet launch after the controversy at the beginning of this month. Trump stated that their meme wallet is not going forward, as they are aiming to build the most exciting MEME on earth- $TRUMP. 

On June 3, the controversy was initiated after non-fungible token marketplace Magic Eden and the team behind the Official Trump memecoin, both asserted that they were coming up together to launch the Official $TRUMP Wallet. 

Eric Trump stated that the wallet isn’t authorized by Trump and warned Magic Eden to be extremely cautious before using Trump’s name in any project that hasn’t been approved and is not known in their organization. 

Donald Trump Junior further made this clear that the crypto platform of the family will be introducing their official wallet soon.
